We are reaching new and exciting heights.
Over the past four years, Solar Support has seen a significant increase in volume across the border, specifically in Canada, for solar equipment.
According to the Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA):
“Canada has only begun to scratch the surface of its vast and untapped wind and solar energy resources, but it is already one of the world’s largest producers of wind and solar energy. At the end of 2021, we had approximately 14,304 MW of installed wind energy capacity and 2,399 MW of major solar energy capacity. Canada ranked 9th in the world for installed wind energy capacity and 22nd in the world for installed solar energy capacity at the end of 2020.”
We’ve been able to deliver solar equipment as needed, but the challenge that presented itself time and time again remained: how do we expedite the process while at the same time offering affordable shipping cost?
“Good afternoon Solar Support and Welcome to Canada!” was music to our ears in February, when we got the official news our registration had been completed.
Delivering results, stress-free
Our clients asked—so we delivered. Literally. We’ve solved our clients’ need to keep shipping costs and lead times down by providing strategic warehousing for emergency, high failure parts.
Some of these parts include:
- SEMIKUBE IGBT Stacks
- Retrofit Kits used for Hummel Kube to SEMIKUBE conversions
- C-TEC Buffer Modules
- Westermo Lynx Routers
All of these parts were included in our first shipment. Our team is already diligently working on preparing our next round of shipments.
Solar Support acting as the Customs Broker creates a stress-free, full dock-to-dock solution for our Canadian customers. Not only can we ship into Canada; if a shipment is needed to export into the US, we can handle that as well.
While the processes and protocols are lengthy (and time consuming!) when shipping internationally, we’re working through the hurdles— including stricter border controls, inflated shipping costs, and a lack of transportation availability—to bring you more efficiency and reliability.
What do we take care of ahead of time? Glad you asked.
- Bill of Lading
- Commercial Invoice
- Canada Customs Invoice
- USMCA Certificate of Origin
- … and more.
These are just a few of the documents we take care of for you so your product doesn’t get caught in the awkward “black hole” of Customs. We’re happy to take this off your hands, so you don’t have to be glued to your phone making sure you don’t miss an email that can significantly delay your shipment.
Reliability solutions, internationally
Throughout this process our goal remained the same: serve customers while offering fast, affordable shipping. We are happy to report we have successfully accomplished this goal—and we aren’t stopping there. Where to next?
Here’s to going places… to Canada and beyond!
